This semester we have a visiting faculty member here at the EAH Jena. Dr. Doug Naffziger, from Ball State University’s Miller College of Business, is here teaching a course on Global Citizenship. Dr. Naffziger is the Director of his College’s International Business program. This is his fourth visit to EAH Jena and the first time for the purpose of teaching. He has worked on projects with Professors Martin Boesch, Helmut Assfalg, and Guenter Buerke in past years. Dr. Naffziger received his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from the University of Colorado in Organizational Behavior. After teaching for 10 years at Western Illinois University he joined the faculty at Ball State and is currently in his 24th year there. Dr. Naffziger is a strong supporter of students studying abroad. He has spent three semesters in London and one in Prague with Ball State students as well as having led numerous short field studies to Germany, the UK, Turkey, and France. His primary area of interest in International Business is in the human side, particularly the importance of understanding the influence of culture in international activities. He has written papers on factors that influence student choices for studying abroad and is currently working on papers in the global competence of university students. Dr. Naffziger and his wife, Susan, have four grown children and live in a rural area about 10 miles from the Ball State campus with their three Boxers.
